Exhibition “Rafael Sanz Lobato. Photographs 1960 – 2008”
“This is a necessary retrospective to bring to light the extensive career of Rafael Sanz Lobato, a documentary photographer who has managed to capture the character and idiosyncrasy of the peoples of Spain with his camera. Sanz Lobato belongs to an unrepeatable post-war generation of photographers who, starting in the 50s, gave our country an exceptional documentary production. These photographers rejected and disassociated themselves from pre-war heritage, working in a spirit of transgression with respect to the established environment, both social and political, and, naturally, with the dominant photographic practice.”
