Sign up and learn about our American Cultural Studies Program (ACS) and the courses it offers (American Art History, American Expression and American Literature). Teachers will explain the course objective and content for the Fall 2017 term, as well as answer questions about their classes.

  • American Art History of the 20th Century: The Great American Home –Students will be able to become familiar with American architectural trends by delving into the figure of Frank Lloyd Wright.
  • American Literature: New York 1945-1965 –students will read short stories, novels, memoirs, poems, and essays that offer an idealized view of New York in the two decades following World War II.
  • Redefining American: Latino/a Identity in the US –What is the difference between the terms “Hispanic”, “Latino/a” and “Latinx”?
  • American Expression: Prosperity 2.0: The West –you will learn the expressions that have defined the West as a fantasy and a reality for generations of Americans.
  • The Great American Novel: The Great Gatsby - students will interpret and analyze an essential work of American literature.
