“Tree of Hate: The Black Legend and its Consequences in Relations Between the United States and the Hispanic World” by Philip W. Powell

“The Black Legend and its consequences in the relations between the United States and the Hispanic World. Professor of Spanish History, Powell, at the University of California at Santa Barbara, traveled and lived in Hispanic lands for a long time, also holding chairs at various American universities for more than 30 years. It begins in the XNUMXth century when Spain was a world power and a true propaganda of Hispanophobic prejudices was born in Spain, a mixture of defamatory distortions. The author highlights the fallacies and intellectual errors of those who promote this legend.”
