“Ours” by Luis Harss in collaboration with Bárbara Dohmann

Ours“In 1964, Luis Harss undertook a trip through France, Italy, Mexico and the entire American continent in order to draw the literary and psychological portrait of those he considered the ten most representative Latin American authors of the moment. Borges, Asturias, Guimarães Rosa, Onetti, Cortázar, Rulfo, Fuentes, García Márquez and Vargas Llosa “posed willingly”. The result of this honest and disinterested adventure was that, without intending it or guessing the correctness of his prediction, Harss created the canon and the navigation chart of a still incipient phenomenon that would later be called Boom. ”
